Halsvuori Silver Mine, part 2

Like I told you in the previous post, the first trip to Halsvuori happened in the dark. On the next day we headed back to see if everything was still in place and sure enough, they were. Continue reading “Halsvuori Silver Mine, part 2”

The rocks are just getting steeper – Halsvuori

In honor of Earth Hour that took place last Saturday, we decided to head out into the dying light. Continue reading “The rocks are just getting steeper – Halsvuori”

#%&ck’s Tomb – I suppose we did cuss a bit

What was that mystical Winter trek destination, the name of which came clear to us after arriving? Hitonhauta (directly translates to Heck’s Tomb), that’s what. Where does it get its name? Seven Hills Nature Walk

Despite its pompous (and misleading) name, this trail barely made us sweat, which is saying something since Heikki was a snowshoe virgin and it’s been about 10 years since my last go. Continue reading “Seven Hills Nature Walk”
